Who are the Kwinana Blue Jays?
Kwinana Blue Jays are a social/amateur baseball club based in the City of Kwinana in Western Australia. Our playing field is Honeywood Oval located at Litoria Drive, Wandi.
What the heck is baseball?
Baseball is the ultimate team sport, where every player’s role matters and success comes from working together towards a common goal. This video explains baseball in under 3 minutes.
Are Kwinana Blue Jays accepting new players?
Absolutely! New players are always welcome and is how our club is able to spread its wings.
Do I need to have any baseball experience to join the Kwinana Blue Jays?
No experience is necessary. Our dedicated coaches and your future teammates will help you learn and enjoy the game of baseball.
What will I need to play baseball?
A baseball glove is a good start. The Kwinana Blue Jays Baseball Club has all the other gear to play the game such as bats, helmets, balls and all other field equipment. For game day wear, a playing jersey (top) is supplied to every player and baseball pants, hat, socks and belt will need to be purchased by each player to complete the playing uniform.
Where can I purchase a glove and items to make up the uniform?
You might be able to find baseball gloves at local sporting goods stores, however there are a couple of specialist stores in the Perth area -

Uniform items such as the pants, belt and socks can also be found at the above stores. The team hat is availble for sale via the Kwinana Blue Jays Baseball Club.
When are games played?
Games are played on Saturday's for juniors and Sunday's for seniors. Times can vary depending on the grade and whether we are the home or away team.
When do the teams practice?
Juniors have traditionally practiced on Monday and Wednesday afternoons usually commencing around 4:30pm with seniors practicing on Thursday afternoons also commencing around 4:30pm.
How long is the season?
The season usually kicks off with games commencing in early October with finals usually concluded by the end of March. Pre-season commences in August. Many of the players participate in a winter training program to maintain their skills in the off-season. This is on an ad-hoc basis so if you're keen to join us for some winter practice keep an eye on our Facebook page.
What if I can't play every game?
This is not unusual and there are various reasons why our players are unable to suit up for every game of the season such as work, family or other committments. Teams are appropriately numbered to take these circumstances into consideration.
